Other than a re-envisioning of the lava lamp while in school, I have not had a lot of opportunities to design electrical items or their cases. So I jumped at the chance to work with a start-up in London, England that wanted to break into the e-cigarette business. I designed a case, wall socket charger and USB charger.
The case needed two sets of indicators, as it has an internal battery that must be charged and it charges individual e-cigarette batteries on the go. Iconography for the charge indicators was needed, to distinguish between the two sets of lights.
A secondary version was to be prototyped, after they decided they had the budget for two. In the end, the company folded before production, but it was a great experience for me regardless.
